Our first Cabaret 4 A Cure was back in the spring of 2010, at the Hamilton Manor in Hamilton, NJ. It began as a fun dinner show with President and Founder, Courtney, and her college friends. Since then, annually a Cabaret 4 A Cure has been held and donated thousands upon thousands of dollars to various cancer-based charities, and local cancer patients in the Northern New Jersey Area. In 2014, Cabaret 4 A Cure was trademarked. We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, therefore all donations are tax-deductible!
We hold many events throughout the year, though the Cabaret is our largest fundraiser. Cabaret 4 A Cure is a mix of singers and dancers performing on a volunteer-basis for a dinner show and tricky tray. The net proceeds from ticket sales are allotted to the charity of the Organization’s choice each year. In addition to ticket sales, raffle tickets for prizes and 50/50's are sold at the event to raise even more money for the charity and beneficiaries.
Organizations we have proudly donated to include: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Children's Miracle Network, the American Cancer Society, Camp Quality NJ, the Ralph Verde Scholarship Fund, the International Myeloma Foundation, The Valerie Fund, and the Meghan Rose Bradley Foundation.
In the fall/winter, we hold "Karaoke 4 A Cure" events, which are karaoke contests. Contestants pay a small entry fee, which is donated to the select charity or beneficiary. Judges select a winner of the contest, and they receive a cash prize. The funds collected from both contestant entry fees and 50/50 ticket sales are donated. The winner(s) of the contest are also offered the opportunity to perform in the next Cabaret.
Our holiday fundraiser is a Holiday Toy Drive for local children’s hospitals. The toy drive provides new toys and books to pediatric cancer patients during the holiday season! Hackensack University Medical Center's Tomorrow's Children Fund, St. Joseph's Hospital Pediatric Department, and Newark Beth Israel Hospital.
During the holiday season, our Cabaret performers also volunteer their time to perform at community events and senior-living homes.
Over the years, we have hosted Pancake Breakfasts at Applebee's to raise money. And most recently, we've been lucky to partner with Jersey Mike's Subs and Zinburger, and host annual events to raise additional funds as well.
This organization was started because of Courtney's personal connections to cancer. Through the help of her family and friends, her organization has grown, and will continue to raise awareness and funds, until a cure is found!
The purpose of this organization is to help both cancer patients and their families, as well as existing non-profit cancer-based charities, through donations. We strive to provide financial, emotional, and educational support, and hold "stress-free socials" aka our fundraisers! (the "4" in our name represents each of these key elements). We are dedicated to serving our community by supporting patients, families, awareness, and research in the quest for a cure for cancer.
